  • Notes: HMS Protector was formerly the MV Polarbjørn, a Norwegian icebreaker and polar research vessel. She was deployed to the southern ocean in late 2012 for her second Austral summer season, providing British sovereign presence in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and offering support and survey duties off Antarctica
