Postmarks placed under Austria-Empire (since 1718, in Hungary since 1779) in the Temes - Temesvar - Banat District, territory limited by 3 rivers, Transylvania and Valachia. Currently split within Hungary, Romania and Serbia, further to the Treaty of Trianon (1920) agreement. In 1871 (end of the transition period before the Kingdom of Hungary postal direction), there were 119 post offices in the Romanian Banat (including 14 in the Serbian Military Frontier).
