Sânnicolau Mare (also Sînnicolau Mare, Hungarian: Nagyszentmiklós) is a town (12,312 inhabitants in October 2011) in Timiș County, and the westernmost of Romania. Located in the Banat region, along the borders with Serbia and Hungary. Until 1918, NAGY SZENT MIKLOS was part of the Austrian monarchy, Temes District, in the Kingdom of Hungary (Transleithania) after the compromise of 1867.
