Târgu-Mureș (Hungarian: Marosvásárhely) is a large city (134,290 inhabitants in 2011) the seat of Mureș County in the north-central part of Romania. Until 1918, MAROS-VASARHELY was part of the Austrian monarchy, province of Transylvania, in the Kingdom of Hungary (Transleithania) after the compromise of 1867.
