Newspaper address sheet
Official address slip
With the ordinance of 8 March 1904, address sheets were issued by the postal administration. For the production of address labels for newspapers, they were provided with the stamp imprint of the 2 Heller newspaper stamps. A sheet in light yellow or light green color, size 45 x 30 cm, contained 30 address labels with a total of 30 stamp imprints. The newspaper editors cut these address sheets into individual address sheets.
The sheet was sold at the face value of the stamps printed on it, i.e. 60 Heller, given to the authorized newspaper editors.
The green address sheets were intended for the separate mailing of the morning and evening papers for newspapers that appear twice a day.
Private address slip
From 10. April 1505 the postal administration also took over the printing of newspaper stamps of 2 Heller, but in green, on private envelopes, wrappers and address slips. (Imprints of certain postage stamp value levels had already been possible since April 1, 1903 on private letters, correspondence cards, address loops and on cards that were intended to be sent as printed matter.)
From 15. January 1909 it was also possible to print 6 Heller newspaper stamps in purple.
This private overprint was subject to the same conditions of use as the officially issued newspaper stamps or official postal stationery with newspaper stamp imprint.
There are also multiple stamp impressions, also of different value levels.
