District XV (Hungarian: Budapest XV. kerülete) comprises Rákospalota, Pest-újhely and Új-palota in the north-east of Budapest. Palota means Palace. In 1846 the first railway line of Hungary (Pest-Vác) reached Rákospalota. Rákospalota became a town in 1923 and a part of Great-Budapest in 1950.

Austrian Empire Hungary Crownland (1852-1867)

The NEU-PESTH post office (renamed UJ PEST in 1868) was opened on 15 April 1852. The RAKOS-PALOTA post office was opened on 15 February 1853. Also named PALOTA bei PESTH.
