RPD Hannover - PLZ 20 (20a from October 1946) The RPD Hannover included the southern parts of the government district of Hanover and the northern parts of the government district Hildesheim and the southern parts of the government district Lüneburg. From 20.7.1946 it also belonged to the Land Schaumburg-Lippe and the Kreis Grafschaft Schaumburg (Bückeburg, Rinteln, Stadthagen), which belonged to the RPD Münster, back again to the RPD Hannover.

RPD Braunschweig - PLZ 20 (20b from October 1946) The RPD Brunswick included the Land Braunschweig and the southern parts of the government district Hildesheim. On 23.7.1945, the eastern parts of the Landkreis Blankenburg were integrated with the town of Blankenburg on the basis of an allied agreement with the Soviet Zone.
