Rowing is an sports discipline at the Olympic Summer Games since 1900. (In 1896 were envisged such competitions too, but took not place due to too strong winds.) Initially took place such competitions only for men, since 1976 also for woman. Since 1996 are the competions subdivided in three boat classes, the totel number for rowing-competitions is 14 (8 for men and 6 for women). From 2021 will it give the same number of competitions for men and women.
