Valentin Sanz Carta was an Cuban painter of the Genre-painting (mainly landscapes and portraits), the Realism (Naturalism), and the Impressionism inclusively "Plain-Art" tendencies. (27 February 1849 - 01 October 1898)
He was, among others, also drawing assistant and teacher of arts. He is also seen as one of the best painters of the Cuban colonial period.
