Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida was a Spanish painter and graphic artist of the Impressionism and Realism. (27 February 1863 - 10 August 1923) He has created among others 366 paintings and was admitted into the "Académie des Beaux-Arts", Paris in 1911 as "Foreign Member". Many of his paintings show sceneries in and around Valencia (historical Kingdom on the Mediterranean coast belonging to the Kingdom of Aragon (Spain)). There is a great collection of his artworks in the "Museo Nacional de Bellas Arte de Cuba", Havana.
