Elbląg is a city (124,257 inhabitants end 2011) and County in northern Poland on the eastern edge of the Żuławy region, since 1999 in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Previously it was the capital of Elbląg Voivodeship (1975–1998) and a county seat within Gdańsk Voivodeship (1945-1975). Before 1918, ELBING Kreis was in the Prussian province of Westpreussen, District Danzig.
