Emmerich (DE)

Emmerich am Rhein (Low Rhenish and Dutch: Emmerik) is a town (30,748 inhabitants end 2018) and municipality in the northwest of the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The town has a harbour and a quay at the Rhine. It belongs to the district of Kleve in the administrative region (Regierungsbezirk) of Düsseldorf. The populated places which comprise the municipality of Emmerich am Rhein are Emmerich, Borghees, Dornick, Elten, Hüthum, Klein-Netterden, Leegmeer, Praest, Speelberg and Vrasselt.
