This souvenir postcard is remembering to "75 years of the first long distance flight Berlin-Vienna" over Breslau (contemporary Wroclaw in Poland) in the year 1912. This flight was planned as flight competition for the time 06-06-1912 to 12-06-1912 and the postcard motive shows an original advertisement poster from 1912 for this competition. The winner was the then Chief engeneer of the "Albatros-Works" in Berlin-Johannistal Helmuth Hirth (1886-1938). (Johannisthal was then a seperate community.) He won by an nonstop-flight Berlin-Vienna and return with an Albatros airplane (Military type 1) and a 100 PS-Argus motor. The special cancellation of this postcard (one-circle, 40.0 mm diameter, 1080 Berlin 8 from 09-06-1987) shows as central motive a such "Albatros"-airplane.; postcard franked with 2 x Michel No. 2831v from 1983
