Plate 47

  • Put to Press Date: 15 Dec 1856
  • Destroyed: Not known but withdrawn on 30 Mar 1864
  • Mostly (97%) on white paper (3% on Blued paper)
  • Large Crown watermark
  • Perforation: 14 (Dec 1847-March 1858 with perforation 16)
  • Impressions show a marked strengthening compared to the former plate 46, however the North East corner remains weak in appearance.
  • Constant Plate characteristics:
    • Main North East Ray of North East square is generally short. (Plates 37-49 & 52-60)
    • Most units showing the break in East frame (Plates 37-49 & 52-60)
