- Label : "Deutsche Post"; 1948; definitive stamps of the General-Issue for Germany (all allied occupation zones) with district-hand-cancel-overprint for the Soviet zone after the introduction of a new currency in the west-zones (begin 24 June 1948); Overprinted were the district number ("3" = "Bezirk Berlin"... "41" = "Bezirk Chemnitz") and the corresponding name of the relating location (districts corresponding to the "Operpostdirektion" (OPD)-numbers for Berlin ("3"), Dresden ("14"), Erfurt ("16"), Halle ("20"), Leipzig ("27"), Magdeburg ("29" former OPD), Potsdam ("36") , Schwerin ("37"), Stettin ("38"), Chemnitz ("41")); overprints in black or violet color (very rarely with other colors), differentation according to the original stamps (number or picture-series); issue of 16+1 stamps of the pictures-series + and 22 (number-series) + overprints on the commemorative issues for all allied occupation zones (general issues); all overprints were on sale only for 9 days: 24 June - 02 July 1948.; Ca. 1100 locations with ca. 1900 cancel types are known.
