Gorzów Wielkopolski is a large city (125,149 inhabitants in June 2009) in western Poland, on the Warta river. It is the biggest city in the Lubusz Voivodeship and one of its two capitals with a seat of a Voivodeship governor (the other is Zielona Góra). Previously it was the capital of the Gorzów Voivodeship (1975–1998) and in historical Prussian province of Brandenburg (Landsberg an der Warthe, Frankfurt am Oder District).
