Harzgerode is a town (7,745 inhabitants end 2018) in the district of Harz in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Harzgerode lies in the lower eastern part of the Harz mountain range on the Selke River, south of Quedlinburg. On 1 August 2009 the towns of Güntersberge and Harzgerode (with their villages of Alexisbad, Mägdesprung and Silberhütte) together with the municipalities of Dankerode, Königerode, Schielo, Siptenfelde and Strassberg became part of the new Stadt of Harzgerode.
