Katzhütte is a municipality (only 1,435 inhabitants end 2013, decreasing trend) in the district Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, Thuringia, formed in 1950 by the consolidation of Katzhütte and Oelze.
KATZHÜTTE and OELZE post-offices opened in November 1867 in the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and Schwarzburg-Sondershausen respectively.
