This postage stamp (in the Netherlands called "Kroningsgulden") was issued on the day Princess Wilhelmina was inaugurated to Queen of the Netherlands, September 6, 1898. About one year later (August 1, 1899) a series with a new (modified) design was issued, "Bontkraag 1899" (English "Fur Collar") The lettering was slightly improved. The characters were made thicker and the "1" was slightly put up. See details in next figure.
