Above pictures have been copied fom the book "Handboek Postwaarden Nederland, section C1". A little bit more than 1 million series were printed and delivered to post offices in Amsterdam. The stamps were offered at twice the face value in december 1906. The surtax was meant for the "Amsterdamsche Vereeniging tot Bestrijding der Tuberculose". Disappointedly, less than 30% of the postage stamps was sold. The stock remainder was first cancelled with "Amsterdam, 31 JAN. 07" and then forwarded to the Stamp Dealer M.Z.Booleman in Amsterdam for selling to philatelists. For one series 35 cents has to be paid, which is about 4 times face value. It is not known how much was sold later.
