Strasburg, Uckermark (DE)

From Stamps of the World

Strasburg is a town (4,721 inhabitants end 2018) in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated in the historic Uckermark region, west of Pasewalk. The town remained a part of the Prussian Province of Brandenburg, until in 1952 the East German government established the Bezirk Neubrandenburg comprising the former Brandenburg towns of Prenzlau, Templin and Strasburg. Strasburg then was the capital of a district in its own right, which after 1989 became part of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
