Varel (DE)

Varel is a town (23,554 inhabitants end 2013) in the district of Friesland, in Lower Saxony. It is situated near the Jade River. Historically in the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg (since 1815).

There was a VAREL postmark during the French occupation (1810-1813), in Département 129.
