Crater, also Kraytar, is a district of the 'Adan Governorate, Yemen. Its official name is Seera (Arabic: صيرة Ṣīrah). It is situated in a crater of an ancient volcano which forms the Shamsan Mountains.In the closing days of British rule in 1967, Crater District became the focus of the Aden Emergency, sometimes called the last imperial war. Postmarks are also know showing Aden Camp. In the 1800's Aden came under the Postal Administration of India.

Squared-circle ADEN on India 3 Anna in 1888. This postmark was created in 1884.

Aden B22 postmark sent on route via Suez Canal to Marseille then onto Switzerland. On leaving Aden May 2nd (Circle applied and B22 despatch) Indo-Chine Paqbout cancel applied on board by the Messageries Maritimes steamer showing May 4rd. Arrival at Marseille 14th May applied with a British Possession receipt stamp. Sent on overland to Wattywyl, Switzerland where it was received on the 17th May. Reported lost in post by seller 24/04/2019.
