The place with its current name has only existed since November 16, 1956. The name of Felderhoferbrücke, which belongs to the municipality of Ruppichteroth, was too long in the opinion of 95% of the local residents. The municipality accepted the request to change the place name to Bröleck. The Feldhof settlements (first mentioned in documents in 1487 as “Veld”, 1644 as “Velderhoff”), the demolished forester's house Tüschenhohn (1644 as “Tuschenhaen”), Sieferhof (1490 as “Syffen”), Haus Bröleck and Lindenhof belonged to the municipality of Winterscheid at that time joined the new place with the approval of the Winterscheider municipal council
