Meter cancel Goirle, 1988. Goirle belonged administratively to Tilburg until 1810 and therefore did not possess his own seal or coat of arms. In 1815 the mayor requested a coat of arms bearing the head of St. John the Baptist. St. John's Decapitation is said to be the patron saint of the village.
