Kortrijk is a city (75,219 inhabitants in 2013) and municipality located in the Flemish province West Flanders. It is the capital of the arrondissement of Kortrijk. The municipality comprises Kortrijk proper and the villages of Aalbeke, Bellegem, Bissegem, Heule, Kooigem, Marke, and Rollegem.

It used a postal code 29 with bars (before 1864), and 87 with points before 1870. The post-office COURTRAI opened before 1830, HEULE on 19 July 1881 (relay), BELLEGHEM and ROLLEGHEM on 10 September 1903, BISSEGHEM on 7 September 1905, COURTAI-STATION on 20 November 1906.
