Kreuzer

From Stamps of the World

A unit of currency used in the Austrian empire until 1899.

Austrian stamps issued between 1858 and 1874 showed only the abreviation KR. From that point until 1883 stamps were inscribed either KR or KREUZER.

The kreuzer currency was also used in the southern states of Germany before the mark, (decimal currency), was introduced in 1875.
