Kwai Fong 葵芳 (HK)
Kwai Fong (Chinese: 葵芳) is an area of Kwai Chung Town, Kwai Tsing District, Hong Kong. The mainly residential area extends to Kwai Hing (葵興) in the north, Lai King in the south, Tsing Yi Bridge to the west, and Tai Lin Pai Industrial Area to the east. It is part of the reclamation of Gin Drinkers Bay in the 1960s.
Kwai Fong Estate (Chinese: 葵芳邨) is built on the reclaimed land of Gin Drinkers Bay, later the town centre of Kwai Chung, and the south of Kwai Hing Estate. It comprises 12 buildings with a total of 6400 units and one shopping arcade. Before redevelopment, it consisted of 11 buildings which were completed between 1971 and 1973. In 1982, the buildings were revealed to have structural defects. In 1985, the HKHA announced that the strength of the concrete in blocks 8, 9, 10 and 11 of Kwai Fong Estate was below standard. Those blocks were demolished between 1985 and 1989. Other old buildings were also demolished in the 1990s in connection with the estate redevelopment. The estate was later redeveloped with 12 new buildings built between 1987 and 2002.
Kwai Fong Post Office was originally opened 1971.12.29 at: 葵涌葵芳7座地下1-3號; in November 1993 it moved to its present address. Kwai Fong Post Office is currently (Sept. 2019) located at: Shop No. 4-10, G/F, Kwai Kin House, Kwai Fong Estate, New Territories [葵芳邨葵健樓地下4至10號].
