Discussion: This illustrated letter card was issued for the National Crisis Committee. Face value (imprinted) is 5 cents, but the selling price was 8 cents, so 3 cents for the Committee. Postal rate is OK. The additional 25 cents was necessary in order to participate to a radio puzzle; this was done on October 3, 1933, by broadcast company NCRV. A larger part of the revenues from the postage stamps was meant for the National Crisis Committee. The answers to certain questions were written on the reverse of the card. After the radio event the cards were sold to the public/collectors and therefore the details of the sender were made invisible for privacy reasons.
