Neuwied is a town (63,883 inhabitants end 2013) in the north of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, seat of the District of Neuwied. Neuwied lies on the east bank of the Rhine. The town has 13 suburban administrative districts (roughly since the 1970 incorporations): Altwied, Block, Engers, Feldkirchen, Gladbach, Heddesdorf, Heimbach-Weis, Irlich, Niederbieber, Oberbieber, Rodenbach, Segendorf and Torney. Historically in the Prussian Rhineland province.
