Alfons Mucha, 1860-1939, painting Salutis Fons Benedicta ave (Hail to You, Blessed Source of Health), 1932

1.20€ ~ detail from painting, reported to be Mucha's daughter, showing girl seated in a rocking chair

  • The sheetlet border shows the whole work, shaped to fit in a niche above the doorway of the restaurant at Hotel Thermia Palace in Piešany (a spa in Slovakia). The Mucha family visited Piešany several times between 1929 and 1931, taking medical treatment; this work is Mucha's only one with a Slovak motif (there are Slovak elements in the background on the

painting, which also shows a bearer of fruit)
