Deal is a town in Kent, England, which lies on the border of the North Sea and the English Channel, eight miles north-east of Dover and eight miles south of Ramsgate. It is a former fishing, mining and garrison town. Close to Deal is Walmer, a possible location for Julius Caesar's first arrival in Britain.
Upper Deal lay to the West of the town near the village of Sholden in the late 1800's, both have now became part of Deal town. Upper Deal is home to the Deal Town Football Club. It was included in Paterson's Roads as a Postal receiving house, with Deal as its Postal Town.

Earliest sources say that the receiving house for Upper Deal was possibly a Public House named Jenkins Well. Its first Post Office opened in the 1820's on London Road, which is now 'The Magnet' Public House.
