French folded letter sent 21st.March 1870 from Paris to Libourne via Bordeaux tied with a pair of 10c.bistre. Empire perforated type:Napoleon III Laure. Issued October 1867.cancel with Number 1 star. This type of cancellation was used in Paris at the local post offices from 1863 to the end of March 1876. It is in the form of a star of points in the center of which appears a number from 1 to 40 corresponding to an office of a neighborhood station. As a result of changes, some numbers have been used in several offices. The star served only to obliterate the postage stamp. A date stamp was also affixed to the letter. In particular, it indicated the street of the post office. Date stamps are rarely found on the stamp. There are varieties of stars, accidental or not, as well as varieties of date stamps.
