Right: Plymouth to Crimea cover redirected back to London; addressed to Lt. Vincent Mackesy who was serving in the British Army in the Crimean war. The stamps are a strip of C2 perf 16 1d. Reds Reserve Plate 3 AC to AH. Postage cancellation is 620 Plymouth Feb. 6th 1855. Lt. Macksey is shown in the Jan to March 1855 Army Lists as serving with the 63rd (West Suffolk) Regiment of Foot. The letter appears to have been re-routed to a Mr. Codd of 19, Spencer Street, Westminster, London. (John Osborn)
