Szamotuły (note that ł is a w sound) is a town and municipality (Gmina) (18,760 inhabitants in 2006), in Greater Poland Voivodeship. It is the seat of Szamotuły County.
SAMTER was a county (Kreis) capital, District of Posen when in Prussian Posen province (before 1870). There was a railway station office SAMTER BAHNHOF.
