Whilst the Plate was put to press in 1872, it is known that imprimatur sheets were printed at the same time as Plate 5 in 1869. It is thought that a 'spare' sheet of the Imprimitur was perforated and sent out before the sheet was printed for general supply. Some stamps therefore are know pre-dated 1872 These are noted where shown
