- Put to press Date: 3 April 1857
- Defaced: 29 October 1861
- Watermark Large Crown
- Perforation 14 (Although perf 16 is known from the December 1857 - March 1858 temporary perf 16 issue, whilst the perf 14 gauge was out of service. Specimens of which are very scarce.)
- Constant Plate characteristics:
- Plate suffered from excessive corrosion (see HG OB PC QC examples) These occured after the imprimatur was printed and effected mostly the O P Q R S & T rows. The resultant corrosion led to the early withdrawal of the plate in 1861.
- Main North East Ray of North East square is generally short. (Plates 37-49 & 52-60)
- Most units showing the ⅔ break in East frame (Plates 37-49 & 52-60)
