First (1840) Repair - State 2 (SG AS48)
The first repair to plate 8 occurred during 1840 to units GE and HE during the black printing period; no examples in red have been seen with the 'O' Flaw which was obliterated in the repair.

Second (Early 1841) Provisional Repair - State 2 (SG AS50)
The second repair to plate 8 occurred early in January 1841 after the first printings in red had begun, but prior to the last (provisional) printing in black, resulting in units in red (the pre-provisional printings) existing in an earlier state than the final printing in black ink
