GB Line Engraved 1840 Rainbow Colour trials

The "Rainbow" colour trials were used to test combinations of colours, papers (with and without Prussate of Potash), cancellations and cancellation inks.
The top Right side of the stamps were voided.
Two small plates were produced.

• The first plate (SG DP19) was of three stamps and had the "O" flaw that occurred on plates 8,9 and 10.
• The second plate (SG DP20) was of 12 stamps (3 rows of four) and three states are recorded.
